Breathing clean air
in a major international
 winter resort
in the Bavarian Alps...

A varied landscape with colorful meadows and woody mountains that remind one immediately of a scenery in an operette. Farm houses with its typical colorful paintings and wooden balconies full of red geraniums, traditional guest houses and restaurants - that is the German holiday resort along the "German Alpen Strasse".

Ruhpolding lies in one of the largest valleys of
Bavaria. It covers 149 square kilometers

Ruhpolding has been spoiled by our Creator with ample beautiful and colorful scenes both in winter and in summer. It kept its authentic looks and structure of the village for its inhabitants and this is very much appreciated by its guests.

Custom and tradition are in high esteem and guests are welcome to indulge in verious programs which makes this part of the world so unique with its local costumes "Trachten", dances, music, theatre performances, and so on.

But not only that: Ruhpolding is proud to have over 200 kilometers (140 miles) good walking and cycling paths and roads. They are well marked with sign posts.

We can tell you about many favorite goals, but must mention the "Rauschberg" (1672 meters) with its splendid view. On clear days you must take your camera with you. There is a cable which takes you up on top of the mountain in 5 minutes. You can either walk down (good shoes are a must) or take the same cable down again to your original starting place. Another "must" is the "Unternberg" which can be reached with a double chair-lift. "Maria Eck" is a famous place of pilgrimage. It is a nice and shady walk to it and you have the advantage that you can be sure to enjoy a good convent restaurant with many specialities including a good glass of Bavarian Beer. Another interesting destination for both adults and children is the picturesque "Weitsee",  the third lake coming from Ruhpolding. It is one of the warmest mountain lakes of Bavaria.

Are you or is one of your children a water lover? Ruhpolding can then offer you a newly renovated swimming pool with artificially created waves. Open both in winter and summer. This pool was the first one built in the Alps and was completely renovated only a few years ago. Of course it includes warm (35 degrees C / 100 degrees F) steamy outside pools!

There are of course many more other things to do in Ruhpolding: there is even a  course in glass painting (verre églomisé). There are also various museums typical for the region, you can visit. There are open-air concerts in the "Kur Park", you can dance to the latest music in one of the discoteques or listen to tradional "Alp Music" in one of the Alms.
Lots of fun included!

Ruhpolding has a good Kindergarten for the toddlers, playing areas, a famous Fairy Tail Park and special rates for children platters in most restaurants and guest houses.

Tennis courts (inside and outside), horse riding (inside and outside), midget golf, a real 9 hole golf course (which is due to be extended to an 18 hole golf course) situated in a splendid country side and much more that can be enjoyed for your first class holiday.

A special attraction - and must also be mentioned - is the fine restoration of the
"Old Schoolhouse"
. This building is now open for all our guests in Ruhpolding from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. They can enjoy the use of a library, there is a television room and a modern room where seminars, talks  and lectures are being held.

A positive view, a friendly approach are characteristics that have made Ruhpolding to the popular place it is now: people, churches and chapels, the country side. It is all in perfect harmony.

"Ruhpolding is the outstanding place
for a holiday in all seasons"
